Training & CPD · for coaches

Coaching for a world where keeping up has become the work.

A new CPD programme from UXC, built on decades of innovation, change and coaching experience, five doctorates, and the direct experience of training and supervising over a thousand coaching practitioners at national scale. Foundation through to specialist.

Why now

Most coach training assumes the world stands still while your client thinks. Ours doesn't.

The coaches we meet are operating in environments their training didn't prepare them for. Strategy refreshing mid-engagement. Technology changing between sessions. The client's role potentially not existing in eighteen months.

We've observed this across hundreds of practitioners and thousands of sessions. Plug-and-play models don't hold where the ground shifts between sessions. This programme is our attempt to make what we've learned available to the sector — at the scale we can't reach one engagement at a time.

Delivered by the people who built it at scale

Not coaches who decided to teach. The founders who built a national coaching organisation.

Both Craig and Cordet are BPS Chartered Psychological Coaches at doctoral level — the highest professional standard. Project5, their free national wellbeing service for NHS staff, delivered over 4,000 sessions per week at its peak and required a full training and supervision infrastructure for 1,000+ practitioners. This programme is built on what they learned — supported by a faculty of proven expert coaches from the UXC network.

Four areas · foundation through specialist

Evidence-based skills. Not theory. Not plug-and-play.

01

Formulation before model

The clinical-psychology approach to understanding what's actually happening before designing any intervention. Most coaches aren't taught it. All of them need it.

02

Coaching across change cycles

Practical skills for when the situation moves between sessions — how to hold a client's development when their context keeps shifting, and work with uncertainty as the medium.

03

Behavioural economics for coaches

The science of what happens when no one's coaching — how people actually decide under pressure, in groups, in organisations. Changes how you listen, what you notice, how you intervene.

04

Foundation through specialist

Enter at the level that fits you. Each stage stands alone as a complete CPD unit, or progresses toward UXC certification, designed to BPS professional standards.

Format

Hybrid. Built around your practice.

Online + in-person

Core learning online; deeper practice and supervision in cohort retreat settings, designed to fit around an active practice.

Small cohorts, deliberate

Kept intentionally small — the learning depends on peer interaction and supervision quality, which need a group small enough to know each other.

New → senior

Each stage is entered at the right level. You don't need to start from the beginning if you're already experienced.

Certification pathway

Each stage stands alone as a CPD unit; completing the full programme leads to UXC certification, designed to BPS standards.
