A mental health service for NHS staff, built in weeks, not years.
The rapid development of a full mental health service, digital front door included, to support the wellbeing of NHS staff at work through COVID-19. In partnership with the NHS wellbeing taskforce.
Project5. Digital solution development: a mental health service with a digital front door.

What happened, and what came of it.
At the outset of the pandemic, Craig recognised the imminent need for a free, independent mental health and wellbeing support service for NHS frontline staff, who were coming under increasing mental and emotional pressure.
Nothing of the kind existed, and there was no time to commission one the usual way.
Craig and Cordet recruited volunteers from the professional contacts they had built over years in the NHS, academia, the charity sector and business.
Project5 grew rapidly into an army of volunteer coaches, administrators, marketers, researchers and IT professionals, with a digital front door so any NHS worker could reach support in a few clicks.
Over 15,000 wellbeing sessions were delivered at no cost to the NHS, a volunteer-delivered gift valued at more than £1.5m.
Project5 ran from 2020 to 2025, in partnership with the NHS, supporting NHS workers in every role well beyond the pandemic it was built for. The work was recognised with the Prime Minister's Points of Light award.
